„We loved our stay at the New Forge, the barn was spacious, and light, perfect for a family of four. The large dining table was great for board games! The cottage was toasty warm with under floor heating and we bought logs for the wood burner to take the chill off the very bad days of weather. Plenty of hot water! The barn was well equipped with everything we needed. The separate seating areas in the garden provided sun traps for different times of the day, despite the pretty horrible weather, we still managed to enjoy the outdoor space. The barn is surrounded by connecting footpaths, which made walking so easy. The children also loved being able to walk to Gwynver beach 15 mins away. There was also great cycling from the cottage, with only a very small section on the main road. We had a fabulous week walking, cycling and beach hopping when the weather allowed!“

“We had a wonderful week in this beautiful and peaceful retreat! A great place to escape the bustle of everyday life and unplug. The lovely design touches make the house feel so special. We loved taking our dogs down onto stunning Gwenver beach (one of the last remaining dog friendly beaches in Cornwall) and enjoying surfing in the crystal-clear waters there! The walk back up is steep but definitely worth the effort. Thanks for letting us stay. We would definitely recommend New Forge.”

“Beautiful accommodation, furnished to a high standard, with all mod cons. The bed was very comfortable, we have not slept as well in a very long time! The location was very peaceful and the vast amount of reading materials and games meant that even on the rainy days we did not get bored. The neighbours were very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. Very close to the beach and so many attractions we could not fit them all in – an excuse to come back again! A wonderful place to stay in a stunning location. The place was really well thought out and catered for all our needs; we were comfortable and very relaxed there. The view from the bedroom over the fields of cows was so peaceful. Waking up there to the sound of birds makes a change from the traffic we usually hear! The nearest beach has to be up there as one of the nicest in the area. The beautiful cove looks amazing, rain or shine. We’d go back and stay here again as we felt there was a lot more exploring to do!

Perfect setting to get away and breath in some fresh sea air! We stayed for 10days and it was a great location to see Cornwall as well as take long walks along the coastal path. The kitchen, bbq and large living room were perfect for some family meals and games.

Sebastian’s property was the perfect family getaway. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, which was great as we have a young daughter. The downstairs bedroom was also ideal as a children’s bedroom. The garden is completely enclosed and so it was very easy to keep an eye on our daughter whilst she played outside.The house is also located on an extremely picturesque spot and is a 5/10(with kids) walk away from Gwynver Beach. Be sure to go on a sunset walk to the beach. It was absolutely breathtaking!

„My husband and I recently stayed here with our dog. The location is perfect for quick access to beach walks and walking the South West Coast Path. This is a breathtaking part of Cornwall. Being winter, we were able to take our dog on all the beaches we visited. The nearest beach is 10 minutes walk away and is dog friendly all year round. The house is truly lovely and from the moment we stepped in we felt relaxed. It feels like a home that has been lovingly put together with an expert eye for design. There was a storm during our stay which only added to the atmosphere for us, we were very cosy! We hope to come back and experience the house and location during summertime.“

It’s wonderful when you arrive somewhere new and it exceeds expectations. Comfort of beds and furnishings very high. Beautiful views especially from upstairs. The area is surrounded by beautiful beaches and lovely places to eat in scenic surroundings. Our dogs had a whale of time too as we went slightly out of the dog ban season, be aware that a lot of the beaches in West Cornwall have seasonal dog bans until end of Sep. Gwynver beach is a short walk from the Forge and has no dog ban – well worth the slightly challenging approach. Seb was very attentive before our stay and we had no need for any further assistance during our stay as the property was loaded with books and information about exploring the area that we could happily trawl through. We would definitely return.“

„We wanted somewhere special, private and remote to do not a lot more than relax and unwind in. New Forge does this in spades. Its a big welcoming space that manages to remain cosy and welcoming at the same time. What helps we found is a large collection of very diverse, interesting books, games, films and music that are kept around the house and shared with people who stay. Everyone loves a book in a quiet moment and we found numerous different ones to keep us amused. (similar tastes too – that was odd…!). The kitchen was well stocked and the design of the house overall was just lovely. We talked numerous times about coming here in the depths of winter/summmer so I hope we get round to this. New Forge very much gives the impression that it wants its tenants to use the house and enjoy their stay. A very special place.“

„Another fab time at New Forge Cottage. I’m not sure that I can add anything to last year’s review. We stayed for two weeks this time and enjoyed every minute, especially as the weather was so nice. I still can’t get over how quiet it is at New Forge. Just a 15 minute walk to lovely Gwynver beach, another half hour and you’re in Sennen. We walked to Land’s End a couple of times and managed the walk along the coast path to Cape Cornwall, highly recommended. Missing it already!„

„My family of four spent a week at the New Forge at Gwenver in late August 2019. It was the perfect location for us all, with Gwenver beach really close by and Sennen only a little bit of a walk further on from there. Lands End was a three mile walk and the picturesque Porth Nanven about the same again the other direction, so there is really plenty to do there from an outdoors perspective. The property itself is marvellous, set in what appears to be a remote little hamlet on the edge of the Gwenver village. The owner has clearly taken a lot of time and care on the property, making sure its extremely stylish, whilst at the same time ensuring it is welcoming and comfortable for visitors. There is an abundance of maps and local guides for those keen to explore; there is the most amazing and eclectic collection of books and a thorough CD/DVD collection for the rainier days; the outdoor space is a great size and very comfortable and private; the kitchen diner is perfect for dishing up a banquet, with plenty of worktop space etc ( to include quite a futuristic looking wok-hob which i’ll be looking into myself now i’m home!), the lounge is really the most amazing space to relax in. All in all, it was a great property and i’d have no hesitation in heartily recommending it to others.„

It’s position above the nearby beach at Gwynver is perfect to start your coastal walks to the north towards Cape Cornwall or south to Lands End via Sennen cove.
